I was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1961 and live on the south side of the city in the foothills of the lovely Dublin Mountains.

 I have loved sketching and drawing from an early age, and took oil painting classes from my brother Brian McCarthy from about 1984-87.

I have visited many prestigious international art galleries over the years and was always drawn to art, so I returned to painting in 2016 and have exhibited in group shows and the Kilrane Gallery.

I am registered as an Irish Artist having been accepted by the Irish Arts Council  in 2018.

I enjoy live music and walking in the local mountains or along the nearby coastline of Dublin.
Getting away for a few nights somewhere here in Ireland is another favourite of mine.
Most of my paintings are from photos I took whilst enjoying the fabulous Irish scenery or watching musicians.
Having Asperger's (Autism Spectrum) gives me a slightly different perspective on how I see and imagine things.
This comes through in some of my paintings.
